2048 Snake Cheats And Tips
Slither your way to a high score with a little help.
We've all played the game 2048, right? This variation on the hit title Threes gathered a huge audience. Well, the team at SMGP one-upped the formula by blending that puzzle game with the classic computer effort Snake to create 2048 Snake. In this weird hybrid, you'll move around the playfield, devouring green numbers to add multiples to your snake while avoiding red ones (and the walls) that could end your run.
Think you'll have trouble keeping up? We've got some tips that'll have you devouring high digits in no time.
How do I play 2048 Snake?
The goal of the game is to eat as many numbers as you can, as they add to your overall score at the top of the screen. With each number you eat, a new piece adds on to the snake, making it that much more difficult to avoid running into any section of your body. However, there's an advantage. If you eat a number that can multiply into any of the ones on your body, it'll shrink your pieces by one, creating a new number in the process.
The general goal is to keep swiping your snake to eat all the green numbers on the screen, while avoiding the red ones that pop up. The more you eat, the bigger your snake becomes (even with multiples), so make sure you keep moving around and avoiding running into red numbers, the walls or your own body!
What's the best way to shrink back down in 2048 Snake?
Again, the key involves finding numbers that you can multiply into your body to create higher digits. You'll start off collecting 1s until they build into 2s, and then into 4s, 8s and so on. The higher you go, the more your numbers will grow, and the more your score will multiply. It's quite tricky, especially with the swipe controls.
How do I avoid red numbers in 2048 Snake?
The playfield is big enough that you should be able to plan your next move. Watch the grid to see where the red numbers pop up, and then move your snake around so you can slide through or around them, eating up all the green numbers as you go along. Try to avoid higher numbers unless you have the multiples you need to build into one another. Otherwise, you'll create an even longer snake, and as a result, it'll be a lot harder to avoid later in the game.
Do I need to pay for anything in 2048 Snake?
No. The game is free-to-play, and you don't need to worry about paying for any Microtransactions. The occasional ad pops up, but otherwise, everything, including the ability to connect to the leaderboard to compete with other players, is free of charge.
