Hercules: The Official Game Cheats And Tips
Survive the 12 Labors with our life-saving strategies.
Based on the recently released movie of the same name, Hercules: The Official Game focuses on the not-so-mortal warrior, who finds himself facing a number of combat trials, including the 12 Labors. Along the way, you'll upgrade your armor, weapon and shield, while also unlocking new characters. You know, in case you don't feel like playing as The Rock.
Here are some tips that will have you battle ready in no time.
How do I play Hercules: The Official Game?
The game is similar to the combat style found in the Infinity Blade games. You'll swipe in various directions on the screen to deflect an enemy's incoming attack (depending on which way they aim their blade at you, so if they're coming in with a top-down attack, you'll want to swipe upward), and then find a crucial time in which you can strike with multiple swipe attacks.
As you attack enemies, you fill up a rage meter. Once full, you can tap it and unleash a special attack, swiping in certain directions as indicated on the screen. Complete the attack successfully and you'll defeat the enemy and clean up on coins.
One word of warning. Some enemies have attacks you can't deflect. In these cases, you'll want to use your shield, but don't rely on it too much. It can only take so many hits before it's damaged and you have to rely on your blade.
How can I improve my character in Hercules: The Official Game
In-between battles, you'll have the opportunity to buy new goods in three departments. With weapons, you can buy clubs, swords and other items to bash your foes with. Shields provide you better protection against bigger attacks, so you'll want to make sure you upgrade that as well. Finally, armor provides assistance should you get hit by an enemy. You'll start with a basic set, but you can upgrade as you go along.
As you level up in the game, new types in each of these categories will be available, so be sure to shop around.
How do I unlock new characters in Hercules: The Official Game
There are two things you'll need to do. The first is properly level up Hercules and open up new quests. The second is to make sure you save up your coins, because that's what you'll need to buy the characters. Be sure to check out their abilities and strengths first, though. They attack in different ways than Hercules, and in some cases, may not be as strong as him in certain strength categories.
Still, if you're looking for diversity or someone new to play as, it doesn't hurt to try a new warrior. You may need to make an in-app purchase, though.
Do I need to pay for anything in Hercules: The Official Game?
It's set up on a free-to-play basis, so yes. You'll earn some coins as you proceed throughout the main story campaign, but the better goods - weapons, shield, armor and characters - cost quite a bit. You can purchase coins anywhere from $4.99 to $99.99, depending how much you need, and can buy gold and silver alike, both of which you'll need in the shop, depending on what you're going after.
Also, each mission takes a small chunk off Hercules' sun bar, and once that depletes, you'll either need to wait over time for it to refill, or pay a quick sum of gold coins to refill it. The choice is up to you.
