WWE SuperCard

Trading cards team up with WWE to make a championship game.

Developer 2K Games took over the WWE license and did a lot with the brand, especially on consoles. New to its stable is WWE SuperCard, a free-to-play mobile game where you battle rivals using WWE trading cards featuring wrestlers spread across the company's celebrated history (think Yu-gi-oh meets WWE).

The Good

WWE SuperCard starts off by giving you a set of cards. You receive one rare card and a bunch of weaker ones. You then create a line-up to battle other people's, and each card has four base stats: charisma, power, toughness and speed. When you are in a card battle, the game prompts you with a stat(s), and you are supposed to send out your best superstar or tag team. You can also utilize support cards to boost your stats or lower your opponent's. The person who wins the best of three wins the match. The game is simple to learn, which means anyone can pick it up and have fun.

You unlock new cards after every match by picking them at random from a pool. The game includes a lot of your favorite superstars from the past and present. You can have anyone in your deck, including Undertaker, Hulk Hogan, Triple H, The Rock, Ultimate Warrior and many more; this will keep new and old wrestling fans happy. In addition, there are different versions of superstars. You may start out with a common version of a card, but the rarer card you get, the higher the card stats become.

The Bad

Trading card games are best played with your friends, so you can hone your skills and see who is the best. There is no way to directly play with others. That said, a versus mode would make a great addition.

The Verdict

WWE SuperCard is a fun and addicting game that is easy to pick up and play. It's so addictive that you can't play just one match, and you will want to keep playing until you find your favorite superstar(s). Hopefully, 2K Games releases a versus mode in a future update.
