Don't Be Afraid To Keep Using Your iCloud Account
It might be a scarier time than ever to depend on it, but don't be so concerned you won't resume normal life.
With the recent developments surrounding iCloud and subsequent fears that cloud-based storage is unsafe, we're here to reiterate that it's still very much a venue you can and should explore, and we've got three reasons as to why iCloud is still a viable platform for storage and simplicity. And in this day and age where deletion is never permanent, you need to learn to get more comfortable, especially when certain services still have so much more to offer you.
1. You can recover photos you thought you lost
Did you go on a mass deleting spree and hastily delete those pictures from your vacation or the time your dog did that super adorable thing you thought you'd never see him do again? Those are scenarios we've all been through, of course -- but given the fact that iCloud can automatically sync your photos, deleting them from your phone doesn't have to be a huge deal. They'll be automatically available for download again just in case that very thing happens. Plus, you can delete photos without a care and not have to worry about what's happened to them. You'll have to take care regarding what people see if they have regular access to your iCloud account, but it's one of the best ways to ensure your data is available and preserved in case you need it again in the future.
2. Restore your contacts, settings, and more when you get a new phone
When you get a new phone for whatever reason, it's always a pain to have to go through and set up everyone's numbers, contact photos, ringtones, and all of your personalized phone settings. No one wants to have to go through all of that again just so they can get back to using their phone like normal. If you sync your device with iCloud, you can restore all of those things in a snap, so that switching phones due to an accident or the simple fact that you just wanted to upgrade is as easy as buying the new device.
3. Keep your iTunes content in the cloud
If you've ever lost your iTunes library, you know that when you have to populate your phone or iPod Touch again, it doesn't always end well. With iTunes in the Cloud, you don't have to worry about that anymore. You can delete whatever you need and be confident in the knowledge that it's going to be there later, so all that hard-earned money doesn't simply swirl down the drain.
