Laying the foundation for a solid gaming experience.
Every kid plays with blocks when he or she is younger, and precision (along with a steady hand) is the key to success. The building won't remain standing if the levels don't support each other. This is true both in architecture and the hottest mobile game right now, The Tower.
The Tower is a game where you try to construct the largest building possible. Blocks that make up each level move back and forth, and you tap the screen to stop that block and place it on the tower. The idea is to try to get the block as close to the center as possible, because any part hanging over the side falls off and makes placing the next block even tougher. It is an interesting concept that makes precision and timing extremely important. There is no time limit in the game, so you have all day to decide where to place the block. The blocks also move faster as you build higher and higher, which allows for a natural difficulty progression.
The game is very simplistic, with few options, modes or unlockables. This means the only reason to play is to get the highest score. Different unlockable building skins would have been a nice touch to give the player something else to strive for.
The Tower is a very fun and addicting game. The simplistic gameplay makes it easily accessible, but this title needs a few unlockables or extra options to give players more reasons to return.
