Are You Eligible For An iPhone 6 Upgrade? Here's How To Find Out
With the iPhone 6 on the horizon, it's a great time to check and see if you might be eligible for an upgrade. There's nothing worse than getting extremely excited for a new phone, heading in to talk to someone about your account at your provider, and being told you simply can't upgrade -- without paying an exorbitant amount of fees, anyway. Here's a quick overview of how to make sure you're good to go when the phone is finally released!
AT&T apparently believes in making things as simple as possible for their customers, as you can just dial in with a regular code from your phone. All you need to do is dial *639# and you'll be sent a text message with all of the pertinent information. Alternatively, check out your account online and find out under "Check Upgrade Eligibility" to see if you'll make the grade.
Verizon Wireless is another carrier that makes things fairly simple for their customers, allowing you to dial #874, hit call, and receive a text message letting you know if you can upgrade. Alternatively, just like AT&T, you can just log in to your online account and check to see if you're eligible there.
You have to check and see if you're able to upgrade your device with Sprint online, but it's simple to do. All you need to do is log in to your online account, choose "My Sprint," and then "Upgrade."
Most T-Mobile customers are likely on the Jump plan (excluding prepaid users) and thus T-Mobile will allow you to upgrade at any time. You'll just need to pay the upgrade fees to do so, and voila! You've got yourself a brand new iPhone 6 -- though you'll have to trade in the old device. If you've got a different carrier (perhaps prepaid?) and there's a different method, let us know in the comments below. Otherwise, happy upgrading!
