Our Predictions For Apple's October 16 Event
Here's what we think is going to go down at Apple's latest event for October.
Apple's storied event is only days away now, and we're close to seeing possible iPad Air 2 devices being revealed, but what else? What could we see at the upcoming event? We racked our brains for possible reveals that could take the cake, and we came up with some predictions that it would be awesome to see coming true, especially in a post-iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus world. Check out our predictions and chime in with your own before the event happens this Thursday!
More than just iPads
At this point, it's almost a given that Apple is about to announce products aside from iPads. After the phone-centric event that we had in September, it's time to go back to basics and explore other tech that we know is coming, such as the iMac itself, new MacBooks, and the possible dissolution of the "Air" label across the board.
We'll see the introduction of the new iPad Air 2, but additional models of iPad as well, with thinner versions and newer color options to choose from, including the coveted gold version that it seems every Apple product is being given the release option for these days. It will include additional RAM, possibly 2GB, and a new multitasking interface that we've all been clamoring for. It will introduce Apple Pay support and will sync with the Apple Watch. We'll also likely see a change in storage across the board, as well as pricing structures.
New details or release of OS X Yosemite
It's been a while since we've heard anything about the release or movement of Yosemite, but what better time for it to drop than this new press conference or soon after, just like with what happened with iOS 8? At the very least, a release date will be given and we can all have something free to look forward to, right?
Revamped iMac and Mac mini options
What Apple event would be complete without a redux of the original iMac to include Retina display and additional colors or a new Mac mini? The event could very well remain iPad-centric, but given the air of change going on right now, we could be seeing a lot of fresh new ideas.
What do you think Apple could be unveiling at the upcoming event? Sound off on whether you think we're just going to see iPad details, new iMacs, or more!
