Pre-E3: BattleZone Attacks the PSP

Will it have the erupting volcano?!

Today, Atari announced yet another game that they'll have on hand for next week's E3 event, a modern-day take on their 80's classic arcade game BattleZone for the Sony PSP.

In the game, players will be able to take on each other in tank combat, both wirelessly through Wi-Fi and through a series of single-player scenarios. The game will also offer free downloadable content, such as new maps and tanks to play around with. No word yet if the original arcade classic will be included, but you can probably bet it will be.

Paradigm Entertainment will be handling development of the game. It's slated for release in November 2006. We'll be back with more details and maybe even some hands-on.
