Five Nights at Freddy's 2 Review

Play the even scarier sequel now!

Remember those old FMV adventure games of the '90's? Five Nights at Freddy's 2 is a great homage to the stylings of Night Trap, The 7th Guest, and other classics. However, unlike those old games, Five Nights is actually quite scary and quite challenging.

The Good

There's a lot to love here. Building on the gameplay of the first game, players will have to spend the night protecting a Pizzeria. The real threat is from the absolutely creepy animatronics who will try their best to kill you. This game has a ton of atmosphere and I really enjoyed the originality that is so lacking from many mobile games.

The Bad

While the game is very playable on a phone screen, the ambiance and character design can go a bit unnoticed on the smaller screen. Additionally, the smaller screen can lead to mis-pressing buttons or obstructing the screen with your fingers, which can be absolutely devastating in a game that requires precisions and attention to detail.

The Verdict

Five Nights at Freddy's 2 is a unique, fun, horrific game and is one of the standouts as far as iOS games go. However, while the controls and visuals are good on mobile, players, especially on smaller screen devices, may struggle with seeing the details that those on iPad or Mac/PC can making the game harder than it has to be. It's still a ton of fun and a definite must have for fans of horror.
