Apple Names Threes As Its Game of the Year
Apple has chosen its games of the year for iPhone and iPad after releasing their Best of 2014 feature for all to check out on the App Store, and you may be surprised by the results.
The iPhone Game of the Year was announced as Threes, with the iPhone runner up as Leo's Fortune. As far as the iPad goes, Monument Valley took top honors, as gorgeous as it is, with Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft surprisingly acting as runner-up. It must have been a tight race, especially considering how popular both titles were over the past year.
As far as other downloads, the Ellen DeGeneres app Heads Up! took #1 as the most downloaded paid iPhone app, with the top grossing app award being given to Supercell's insanely popular Clash of Clans. It even managed to overtake the ridiculously addictive Candy Crush Saga somehow. As far as iPad titles go, Minecraft - Pocket Edition swept the board for the #1 most downloaded paid app with YouTube at the top for free apps.
